Intel Extreme Masters Season 5 World Championship

 Useful Information

Over eighty-five players from twelve different countries have gathered in Hannover, Germany for the Intel Extreme Masters Season 5 World Championship. A total of $145,000 across four games is up for grabs, and every team/player starts with a cleans slate at CeBIT. The event itself will feature a tournament structure with two groups of six and the top three from each group going into the playoffs. The first place finishers from each group will go straight through to the semi-finals and while the second and third place finishers will go to the quarter finals. The playoffs for each game will be single elimination. Also ESL has setup 14 different stream in multiple languages for your viewing pleasure which can be found here.

Counter-Strike 1.6 (Group Stage) (Playoff Stage)
Twelve counter-strike teams have gathered from nine different countries at CeBIT. Fnatic looks to add to their resume with another world championship while the team of 2010, Navi looks to win back to back Intel Extreme Masters World Championships. The teams will be competing for a total of $80,000.

Quake Live (Group Stage) (Playoff Stage)
The Quake Live tournament will feature twelve different players from nine different countries.The event its self is sure to be intense as  rapha will look to win back to back world championships while cooler looks to carry over his success for the IEM5 European Finals. The twelve players will be competing for a total of $20,000.

StarCraft 2 (Group Stage) (Playoff Stage)
The StarCraft 2 tournament will feature a talented pool of twelve different players including IdraA, MorroW, and DeMusliM. The twelve different  players will be competing for a total of $30,000 and the title of Intel Extreme Masters 5 Champion.

League of Legends
(LoL Invitational)
The four invited teams SK Gaming, AAA, Team Dignitas, and myRevenge will play in a unique system for a prize pot of $13,500 total. This will actually be League of Legends first big offline event.
